Deadluck Manufacturing is a new business located at 14314 South Eagle Valley Road, Tyrone.

A new business opened its doors in Snyder Township at the beginning of April. Deadluck Manufacturing, a full-service machine shop, is now up and running at 14314 South Eagle Valley Road, Tyrone. The business is owned and operated by Scott and Terri Breindel and Jim and Shelly Ellenberger.

Terri Breindel said that the shop has already been busy, filling orders for local businesses and taking care of walk-in customers who needed parts for miscellaneous things or had ideas for products for which they need prototypes. “We really are open to anyone. We are a full-service machine shop.”

Deadluck will work with both larger companies and small individuals to provide high quality machine shop services for anything from small, individual orders to large production runs for major companies.

Terri Breindel said, “When we were looking for our machinery, we tried to be pretty diverse, so we can make a lot of different parts. We’re also going to do some custom parts. We’re already in the midst of designing our own products for ATVs and for life sciences. We are hoping that we grow both segments — business to business and custom parts.”

Terri said, “We want to be part of the local community and support local businesses, and we’re also equipped to produce (and ship) for any company (from anywhere).” The company recently filled an order for a company in Harrisburg.

As a full-service machine shop, Deadluck has the capability to fabricate parts from stainless steel, titanium, aluminum, plastics, and more. The shop is running with a CNC Mill and Lathe, with C-Axis, Live Tooling and Manual Machines. For the layperson, what all of this means is that the equipment is computerized, offering precision machined components. Deadluck is committed to offer “competitive pricing, on-time delivery and the highest quality, backed by decades of experience.”

The Breindels both are manufacturing engineers, with engineering degrees from Penn State. Scott Breindel most recently worked together with Jim Ellenberger, a senior machinist, in a company in State College. They both have 25 years of experience, Breindel, in designing high speed production equipment and consumer products; and Ellenberger, in programming and operating 13 axis CNC machining centers and manual machines.

When the factory where Breindel and Ellenberger both worked was bought out by another company and a lot of things began changing, they decided they wanted to start a new business of their own, and the idea for Deadluck was born. The name was chosen, Terri said, because the word is defined, according to the Urban Dictionary, to describe when you got out of a bad situation before something worse happened. And it looks like the founders of Deadluck are creating a very good situation now in Tyrone.

Ellenberger was born and raised in Tyrone; the Breindels live in State College and commute. Terri said, “It seemed like Tyrone was a good place to be. There’s a lot of industry here and we’re in that corridor between Altoona and State College. The location offers a lot right off of I99, so for commerce, we really could serve any area around here very easily, both to deliver and to have people walk in. It’s also a great area for side-by-side and ATV parts.”

The company can be reached at (814) 682-7041, online at www.Deadluckmfg.com, on Facebook, and by e-mail at info@deadluckmfg.com.
